Milan Abarth: Austria's First Supercar

When you think of a supercar, you’re probably thinking of something Italian.
Austria’s first supercar is now making its debut in Monaco. Ladies and gentlemen: The Milan Abarth. Austria’s first supercar certainly looks like it wants to make an impact, with the aerodynamic shape of a Le Mans prototype, and the looks of an Ultima GTR. The massive exhaust that spouts under the spoiler somewhat resembles a Batmobile.
A total of 14 cars will be produced, all completely bespoke. Whereas some car manufactures only offer the paint and interior trim on the options list, the Milan Abarth can be completely customized, including weight and power. The interior can be as plush or as Spartan as the owner desires. The car maker is probably expecting to finish most as the latter though- the prototype has an interior that makes a Ferrari F40 look luxurious.
Weight can be as low as 900 kg going up to 1100 kg, and power can be between 600 and 1700 bhp, depending on how courageous the customer feels.
Prices will start at €300,000.
This isn’t just a hopeful rookie, the Milan has a prominent backer. It will be powered by an engine designed by Abarth, who created the greatest racing Fiats of the 60’s and 70’s.
Karl Abarth’s son and project consultant for the brand, Raphael Abarth said: “This private, unofficial launch event could only take place in Monaco – the place to show any special car. Monaco is the city of the supercar in every way.”
Prospective buyers will be shown the car at different venues in Monaco city from the 22nd- 26th November, 2012. You can see the car at these locations:
Zest Bar, Port Hercule, 22, 23 and 24 November
Hotel de Paris, Monte-Carlo, 25 November, 2-4pm
Gerhards Café, 25 November, 5pm-8pm
